After four loooooooonnnnnng months, I received my ECU from JWT this morning. I realize that they were EXTREMELY backlogged, but four months? I have sold most of my equipment, decided to sell my car 5 times, and decided to keep it 6. I practically gave up on my car. The springs and retainers weren't in stock either. Talk about frustrated.
I will admit however; that this morning, the old devilish grin has returned.

You are talking about the jwt springs and retainers right?
I want to know what the diff. is between the jwt and say Ferrea are? Could you help with this?

I have looked in to this and can't make my mind up.

( jwt said that there old springs would stick and they garbaged the springs that they had let. I find this odd. I have not heard anything about it. )

thanks nic

Hey SENTRA1909 I can get you JWT springs and retainers if you want them. Cost $600. Ferrea Springs and retainers are good but you will have to make a head mod to fit them. You will also have to buy the little keepers that keep the retainer in place from them. Take my advice too much trouble.

wow that is awful. I shipped mine 2nd day air, stayed on them once a week, and got it shipped back to me 2nd day air as I requested. It took me 3 weeks TOTAL.

And they told me it was the BUSY season during that time!

ya, they are totally backlogged. Ben is on vacation this week, and I talked to Jim a few days ago and he said that they had 100-120 ecus sitting there ready to do, most have off the wall stuff to do on them too, like nos programs, re soldering old ecus (jet, ect, ect) and Clark is working 15-16 hour days doing 6-8 ecus a day. craaazy.

I shipped them my ECU next day and put a note in the box, it was back on my door step in less than 7 days. Thsi was about 2 weeks ago. 6 days from the time it left my hands until it was back in my hands. Course, it wasn;t a turbo profile so that may explain some things.

The people who get comps back fast are the ones that are getting someonelses comp. If there are 120 comp on the shelf do you think they will reproram evey ECU there. Hell no. They will go through the lot send comp out to people who need a comp that someone else has shipped in. Quick $100 and a new label.

Think about it.

Mine isn't exactly off the shelf. C1 cams with 370cc and stock MAF is probably not common.

i dropped mine off at 5pm, got it returned to me the next morning 10 am. and it was mine, just reprogrammed, with 370cc turbo with no EGR, Rear O2 sensor. same scratches on the case and everything

what is the head mod that is needed to get the ferrea spring, valves, and retainers in? ( I am have a machinist over size and all that good stuff.) Andreas are they the same spring and retainers that Jim (JWT) said have problems with floating or sticking? Do you have valve (ss) with a 1mm over bore?

thanks Nic

You should not run JWT C-series cams with ANYTHING other than JWT valve springs. The JWT C-cams were designed *specifically* for the JWT springs, and running some other spring may cause you a whole lot of grief.

You should be able to run other springs with 'S' series cams, but I don't think you'll see big gains.
