Hello from Aus! :)

I see that most of you guys in the USA are using slicks for drag racing. Are you all running standard driveshafts? Does anyone have any issues with them breaking on the launch? I am using MT et streets at the moment and they seem to break them enough

Do you guys have any sources for aftermarket/stronger ones?

Thanks,
Ryan

Drive Shaft Shop has stronger axles but they aren't cheap.

How much HP are you making and what kind of times does your car run? I use slicks with stock type axles and have not broke on YET getting 1.7 60fts.

Unless your making alot o' powa, your not gona need driveshaft shop axles, stock axles are pretty strong.

It's more than likely from him using a drag radial instead of a slick. Wheel hop is a bitch.

The ends at the spline are the weakest part, I broke it with 185fwkw... I will soon be running close to 300...

Yes I know how to preload, I do it all the time... the two-step is making life easier though I think :)

What size slick are you guys running?

Stock axles ftw. 24.5" slicks here.

I will be rocking slicks......eventually:rofl: when I can get some money, if not I might have to just mount some dr's on my stock 14's:( . Better then running street tires and ALOT cheaper then slicks.

24.5 soft wall slicks here. I think the soft wall absorbs alot of shock. ET streets are still pretty stiff side walls I believe just soft tire tread. IIRC
