: Calum i need some help
2dr_sentra 12-02-2007, 03:53 PM I got my daughter board ecu and 370cc's installed over this weekend. I put the 370's in first then the ecu, started it. It ran great. No check engine lights. Then i shut it off till tomorrow.
Then today, i re torqued all the intake manifold bolts and check my plugs, etc. Then i go for a test drive, and it sounds like its back firing when i rev, and in between shifts, also the check engine light came on. I havent did a self diagnostics yet. I also have a Nissdatascan plugged in and it reads on Mlb o2(i think that what it is) it reads lean at idle and rich when i rev.
2dr_sentra 12-02-2007, 05:01 PM i just did the self diagnostics, and i got a shift soloniod code, and many others, i couldnt read the flashes fast enough. Then i reset it, the car wouldnt start.. it finally started and the light was off for a little bit then came back on.
Calum 12-03-2007, 08:59 AM What codes does Nissan Datascan show?
2dr_sentra 12-03-2007, 10:54 AM What codes does Nissan Datascan show?
How can I check them with the data scan?
Also i hate to sound like a moron but i may have connected the bettery terminals wrong for a second with the new ecu in... i didnt try and start it like that. You think that could have destroyed my ecu? :(
erick212 12-03-2007, 12:01 PM When you connect to nissandatascan use the self diagnotsic feature... it will list all your codes and also allow you to reset them just by pressing the bar @ the bottom that says.. reset codes... You can test for the codes without the engine running and the key in the run position.
Yes, you could of fried your ecu by hooking up the power backward..

I just tried that, Nothing on the data scan showed up, do i need to have a program or a laptop to do this? i don't have anything other than the datascan. It didn't seem to work. I re set the ecu the codes are gone, car is running as we speak and no codes. Would the car run any different if the ecu is fried? I rev it a little and it back fires though
2dr_sentra 12-03-2007, 12:20 PM I shut it off and re started it and now the check engine light is flashing.
erick212 12-03-2007, 12:53 PM Nissandata scan is a program that goes on a computer to interface with the ecu. Do you have a realtime or fix ecu. If your car is running now with no cel lights on your ecu should be alright.... no promises. I do not know what you are programed for or if your setup is ok. have you checked your spark plugs?? they will tell you a lot about what is going on with the car.

yeah i dont have it hooked to the computer. I have a basic rom board.
2dr_sentra 12-03-2007, 03:56 PM My codes are-
P0750 - shift solonoid circuit 1
P0755 - shift solonoid circuit 2
P0136 - o2 sensor 2 in bank 1
P1760 - clutch solonoid valve
P0740 - TCC solonoid
P0745 - Line pressure solonoid
Bowlcut 12-03-2007, 05:11 PM arent those automatic ecu codes? line pressure sure looks like an auto ecu.
Calum 12-03-2007, 05:16 PM I was just thinking the same thing. Refresh my memory, but you've got an auto core ecu in a manual car, but were doing something to dummy the auto switches, right?
I doubt your ecu is fried btw.

Yeah all but the o2 sensor one.

Yes the car was automatic at one point, i tricked the ecu to think the car is in PARK, to start it. We had talked on the phone about deleting the auto program or something. I assume if the ecu was toasted i wouldnt be able to even drive the car correct?
Now about the o2 sensor... is that the front sensor or the rear?
Calum 12-03-2007, 09:44 PM P0136 is the rear O2 sensor. That doesn't affect anything. The other codes I think are all auto tranny codes, and shouldn't affect how the engine runs either.
I set the ecu up with a manual program. That doesn't change the OBD-II half of the ecu though, hence why its showing auto CELs. I'm not sure how having the manual code base is affected by the wiring mod you've done.
Calum 12-03-2007, 09:51 PM Btw, I posted the B14 code list for you:

On my order form, i think i selected the egr delete along with the rear o2 cause im running a test pipe. Also Budsang told me to unplug my auto trans ecu thats in the kickpanel and it will get rid of alot of my codes.
