My and my boy chris (nismoser) just installed a new clutch in my nx this past friday and saturday. I have the Daikin pressure plate with the 2001 se disc from the b15. The clutch has been working great, each gear is a smooth shift and im babying it until the breakin period of 500 miles is over. Well, just last night i noticed that when the car is idling in neutral theres this spinning sound that i hear like the turning of metal or something to that effect. But, as soon as i put the clutch pedal down the noise vanishes. When i let off the clutch, it starts again and repeats in this manner. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?? I know the flywheel spins when the clutch is disengaged, could that be the noise and if so...why? Any help is appreciated. thanks in advance...John.

brothaman, this sound is normal. It is your throwout bearing. Keep a peace of mind! I'll call ya when I get down to Tampa, or from the airport when I get bored or somethin. Latazz!

Yeah I hear strange noises now and then but I have over 3000 miles on my act clutch swap and no problems yet. I wouldn't worry about it if everything seems to be fine.
