There isn't all that much to maximizing the mpg of you car.

#1 accelerate as slowly as safely possible
#2 Keep your tires at maximum pressure listed on sidewall
#3 keep engine tuned up
#4 remove all unnecessary weight

An answer would be nice :biggthump

True, but then we can drill down to what gas stations, mods, driving conditions make it better/worse etc.

OK sounds like a good idea, but I say we ban the "per tank" measurement, which is about a scientifically accurate as a butt dyno.

(OK maybe not that bad, but pretty loose on a number that will coe down to single digits...)

I like the idea of combining maintenance with mileage, though. Nowadays its the responsible thing to do.

I would think it could use a sticky but probably not a whole section just for mpg.

Yes per tank basis is not all that accurate. This is why I divide miles driven minus the amount of gas that I just fueled up. So say I drive 100 miles, fuel it up with 4.5 gallons to get 22.22 MPG, etc. :)

X2. There is already plenty of info on what cause poor gas mileage floating around this forum. Someone just needs to consalodate it into one thread for a sticky/tech library. There is really no point in having a whole section dedicated to that when you can just as easily start a thread in another section with your problem/question.

I've actually been thinking about this idea, and I do like it :biggthump

We need something for MPG. Information is spread everywhere and sometime it's not a thread just a few posts.
