It's headliner Scott. I don't know what else to say. =]

I guess I could take pics if you insist.

I have a 98' SE-R with a sunroof, and I was wondering how much fabric would
I need for the headliner and the sunroof all together?

Well I searched and found a pretty detailed description on how to remove the
headliner, but it's for a b-13. Is it the same for a B14? And one step says to
remove the weather strip at the top of the door to get the side window panels
off, if I do so would I be able to put back the weather strips when I'm done and
have no problems or would I have to go out and buy new one? Thanks

here's the description
- Take off the headliner:
- remove a-pillar plastic, held on by 2 clips
- remove weather stripping around top of door, just pull off
- remove rear window plastic trim, held on by a number of clips
- remove 4 clips in back, just pushed in, pull out with flathead and pliers
- remove dome light, take off lens, screws are visible
- remove sunroof switch, snapped into place
- remove rearview mirror, take off lower plastic trim, 3 screws are visible
- remove sunroof trim, runs the length of the inner perimeter, pull off

- remove OH-sh*t handles (took me forever to figue out how to do this):
- the 2 plastic pieces on each side of the handle are clipped on
- use a fladhead or something that has a 'L' shaped tip, and pry it off
- 1 screw under each plastic cover

the weather strips typically won't have a problem being re-applied if you remove them properly.

stripping correctly? thanks

pull it off carefully with even pressure. Pull it directly down, not on an angle. Start at the top, once you get it off there the rest should come off very easily.

Are there any side effects of using fleece instead of actual headliner fabric?
Like glue seeping though? Thanks

X2...rofl^^^^

Anyway...I need to do my headliner in my classic, and I was thinking dark gray or black ,soft,leather-like vinyl instead of velour. That is how my Z32 is from the factory, and I like it.Cleans easy, and dont show stains.Anyone tried this?

one thing i read was, vinyl is a heavy fabric compared to headliner material. there are different strength of the spray adhesive. i used the high strength one. the mid strength one, even says something like, "able to use on lightweight headliner, but not to be used on heavy material." something like that. i would love to use vinyl on mine, but didn't want to chance anything. i used black headliner material on mine, and it turned great. some slight over spray where the glue came out onto the surface, but it's in the tight corners, so it'll be fine.
