in4am0spun 12-05-2007, 04:53 PM The cloth material that is on the sunroof shade (not sure what it would be called) is comming apart... im using my bb to type this so I apologize for not using the search but is there anything that I can do to get my headliner back on correctly
blurr.rt.by.you 12-05-2007, 05:21 PM i can reupholster it for you. im local
in4am0spun 12-05-2007, 07:25 PM 108 st is REAL familiar for me, being that i am only like 5 mins away from 108 (in the corona area that is) but turbo alley.... havent heard of that alley...
classicaddict 12-05-2007, 07:28 PM how exactly do you remove it? i want to do mine just not sure how to take it off.
SR20WhoKnew 12-06-2007, 02:02 AM I have the exact same problem, i want to fix mine also.
SHigSpeed 12-06-2007, 03:03 AM I THINK you have to drop the entire headliner. Mine is completely off. Problem was getting all the foam and glue off too! Now most of it is all black plastic (bored as stoplights? Pick glue from your sunroof slider!).
Please share your fix!

lololololol its my backyard. Im in corona too. Do you happen to go to lincoln tech?
NismoSER 12-06-2007, 02:40 PM Yea, just gotta pull down the headliner. After that, there are two rubber stoppers at the rear of the sunshade track. Pull those off, and the shade will slide all the way back off of the track.
Reupholster as needed, slide back into tracks, put on the rubber stoppers, replace headliner. Obviously, removing the headliner is the more time-consuming portion of it.
WAFFLES 12-06-2007, 06:39 PM Can anybody tell me of a place to buy the material to redo the headliner and sunshade? I'm really tired of my ghetto interior.

Not that nice ***. Reminds me of mid '80's Camaro headliner. Not nearly as nice as OEM. I wonder if you can get a full headliner from a junk car and cut out a swatch of material to cover the plug? Hmm...

BenFenner 12-13-2007, 05:54 AM No, Joan's Fabrics has OEM style headliner. It is terrific stuff. I don't know what you're talking about Scott...
I used to do interior work for a living, and did many a headliner replacement. We got our stuff wholesale, but it was OEM style/quality, and they had the same stuff at Joan's Fabrics. The real trick with headliner is to get the right glue. I paid $20 for one can. It should spray out like spiderman's web...
My headliner started sagging last year so I replaced mine. It's as good as the day it came off the assembly line now.
NismoSER 12-13-2007, 09:08 AM What ^^ he ^^ said. I also did my headliner (and QuikSR20 was right alongside with his car) with Joanne's Fabric headliner and it looks and feels OEM.
SHigSpeed 12-13-2007, 10:32 AM Does this stuff have visible weave lines, like corduroy (no texture, just pattern)? Because the stuff I saw (and bought to do my C-Pillars in my P10) did and it looked kinda cheap. The cushioning was good, nice thick foam, though. If the stuff you're talking about truly looked like OEM NISSAN stuff, I'll have to go look again.

NismoSER 12-13-2007, 11:43 AM Nope, just smooth gray cloth with the foam backing. Cushy to the touch. I find myself poking at it at stop lights to keep entertained lol!

Sweet! I'll have to go look for some then. Don't poke too much though, you might break down the foam and have flabbyliner! :) I give my kids hell if they touch the headliner!
