Yeah, this is pretty weak and seems like a stripped down version of what nissanforums turned into.

It also comes down to the thought of the forums original intentions. This place was originally for people, with sr20, powered cars to get together and communicate. Trying to advertise the useless other forums seems pointless to me. This is a community of people that are trying to give beneficial information out to all others that need it. Operating costs may be operating costs, but the old owners went about this in a better way than what is currently happening.

You have been coming to this site for free for over a year now. You can disable the side bar while viewing threads. WTF is the big deal?

Its no different then television (which you pay for, by the way) or magazines (which you also pay for) and show you advertising even though you pay for it. We allow you to browse the site for free and only ask to show advertising in return.

If you want to become a paid member for a nominal fee you wont see hardly any advertising (just the 468x60 banner up top) -- I feel this is a fair and reasonable trade off.


Why must all this happen now? Has the forum gone poor? Were we not advertising enough? Atleast the former advertising was car-relevant, now all I see is "airsplat". My other forum which has been running for the same amount of time, with around the same amount of members has nothing like this. It's like SR20forum used to be, simple. Why ruin the simplicity of something, to make more money? Boston obviously was not losing money by owning the forum, if I remember correctly, I read he would have laughed at an offer for 50K for it, so there must be some payout. I just find it a little rude, that's all.

Download firefox. get adblock plus extension, then filter set g updater. and also throw on noscript and dont allow any scripting to run. keeps a lot of that crap at bay...and doesnt allow info to pass to the advertisers

sad thing is I don't think anyone on the forum has the resources to start something new, that would mimic what the sr20forum is truly about. aka not this.

I came on today after school and was surpised with the huge change. I am not liking it. I like this forum because of its simple design. It's not like that now.
