Really, if you think this is about a front page and a sidebar, you really don't deserve to have an opinion. We've all jumped off this burning ship and you're asking "What's cooking?

Sorry I don't follow the crowd and do what everyone else dose. The great revolution your looking for looks so stupid to me but hey thats just me. It's just a forum not a way of life.

I agree with you, and yet I also disagree with you.

First, I'm not a follower, either. This is the only part I agree with you on.

Secondly, if you think that the community is just a forum, then you're dead wrong. It IS a way of life.

Let's put this into perspective...(this may be far-fetched, but try and focus on the underlying message here...)

You've had a job for 10 years. You considered it a career position, in which you had hoped to retire with the company, with a nice retirement package. Everything was going smoothly, and there haven't been any sudden changes.

Now, you walk from your car to the office, to discover that the company you have worked hard for, has suddenly been bought up overnight, with NO previous explanation, or information as to who the buyer was, and what their intentions were, with the company you so loved. Upon entering the office, you've noticed that the once homely atmosphere has been ripped out, and the entire first floor has turned into a call center, with tons of busy worker bees making and receiving calls.

Your office is now a tiny cubicle, hidden away in the corners of the second floor, in which you have to navigate THROUGH the first floor full of worker bees screaming over eachother, to the staircase in the back of the office building, just to get upstairs.

So now you're left with a predicament. Do you build a staircase outside to your office? Highly unlikely. You liked things just the way they were, before you were hit with shock and awe, this morning. And now, you're just disgruntled because the work, however little you've done, has been cast aside for big brother to move in his cheap "Tier one" call center. Time to go to careerbuilder.com and see if you can find a company more like the one you used to be working for.

Who knows, maybe they wont have Hawaiian T-Shirt Fridays, and NOT require you to just sit back and have no input as to what direction the company should take in the future.

Very well said TeKKiE, I completely agree with you :)

Looks like we can agree to disagree. It's just a part of life where shyt happens and you have to deal with it our take the easy way out and jump out of a window. If the forum went away no I'm pretty sure I could pick myself up off the floor and keep moving. There are other car forums out there.

Wow - I missed a lot since I last visited the site on the 9th. I haven't been around much lately - these recent changes and the sale of the forum will likely be the end of my time here. Hopefully g20.net didn't get sold too... Or maybe I'll just start sr20forum.com part deux on another server.

Sad sad changes... I'm really bummed to hear all of this. :( It's unfortunate that the forum was sold for said unspecified amount.

This was a forum for the sr20 community. Yea he sold it to make money, im not surprised we would all do the same. However, it was sold to a company who only wants to make a profit from ads and hits. That how any web site works. Truth, its just aggravating because, in a sense he sold everyone's posts that were full of great information for $$$. No matter how deep you look at the situation that's pretty much what it is. People come here for the wealth of information, they don't come for any other reason. They stop the editing to protect their investment, but the editing is used to help update information such as Shawn B's suspension archive. He worked hard on that, I don't care what legalities you look threw, he is the author, that's his information that was sold.

As for advertising, yes, it gets real annoying real quick. I actually hope the venders leave after advertising prices go up, Supply and demand. Right now prices are fairly cheap because the venders are fairly small I believe(Because I did not know about most of them until I came here). After everyone that's on the other forums gets a hold of them, demand goes up along with prices.

My personal opinion, I would grab all my information save it and delete it if they ever unlock editing posts. Of course I would only do that if you were not planning to stay. If your staying then you have nothing to worry about. Yes it cost money to run a forum, but they pretty much just bought the information they have everything else they need to run so there already in the + for profits.

I just wish someone with a true passion for cars would build a useful forum and not sell it just for the money.(Unless its to build a dream project)

Well that's my vent about this forum im done bit ch ing about it there's nothing we can do so....My advise, move on, I certainly will. Until then enjoy the "What's the best exhaust for my car" Posts!

Wow! I did not think I would run into this guy again. From previous experience w/ ekool's company, I will throw in my 2 cents. I was and still am a moderator at DSMtalk.com, I was there to enjoy a similar situation to this. The original owner sold the site to ekool's company. After the takeover and mod/admin team was rather limited in not only input but also day to day operations of the site. Many staff left along with long time respected members. The quality of posts and members declined as well. I hope SR20forum does not go through the same thing.
Crosses fingers.

Too late........There was already another site created when this went down that has 900-1000 members with a bunch of them being knowledgeable old time members.
