sigh.. why is there crap on the left side of my screen.
Do we really need to see site navigation, google links and account settings all the time?

hate it, all sorts of unneeded crap cluttering up the page now. IE, if I wanted to go to a titan/Altima/G35 forum, I'd go there. What do I need to see a calender for? Weak....

If you want to disable the sidebar we've given you the option to do so, please see the announcement posted about it here: http://www.sr20forum.com/forum-server-info/announcement-sidebar-intellitxt-advertising.html

Account settings > Edit Profile > bottom of page "turn off sidebar - this setting on has an effect for paid members"

jesus leave the fucking site alone

I'm not too crazy about it. It's funny, we can have that bullshit on the side of the page but we can't have signature pictures, even if they were limited to size and only displayed 1x per page.

I would have to say I hate it too. It looks as though the new owner is trying to foot their other forums, as they're now always at the top left of whatever page you are on. I was always a fan of the simplistic nature of this forum, but I guess everything has to change. It's just how it changes that will detrimentally effect what the members think. In this case it will probably be a love/ hate thing. I for one lean towards the later of this issue.

I hate you. Whoever you are that's changing this. The header could be up for grabs still, but this sidebar and add CRAP sucks. I hate you.

We realize not everyone is going to like it which is why we've given you the ability to disable it. If you don't like it, turn it off... pretty simple.

dude. You're trying to make money off of it, by making it only FULLY disabled for paying members. Sorry I don't have the money to contribute, but must you still obstruct my page viewing? I mean, c'mon. Scam.

The thing is that it can't "totally" be turned off:
<fieldset class="fieldset"><legend>Sidebar on All Pages</legend> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="3" width="100%"> <tbody><tr> <td>This setting allows you to enable/disable the Sidebar on all pages. This setting only has an effect for Paid Members (http://www.sr20forum.com/payments.php).</td> </tr> <tr> <td><label for="rb_cpf_field11_1"><input name="userfield[field11]" value="1" id="rb_cpf_field11_1" type="radio">Enable</label> <label for="rb_cpf_field11_2"><input name="userfield[field11]" value="2" id="rb_cpf_field11_2" checked="checked" type="radio">Disable</label> </td></tr></tbody></table></fieldset>
Looks like you're making this option only available to paid members.

You have been coming to this site for free for over a year now. You can disable the side bar while viewing threads. WTF is the big deal?

So let me get this straight... you enjoy this forum for free, learn from it etc. There are very real expenses in running a site... so we are not allowed to show advertising on it?

Its no different then television (which you pay for, by the way) or magazines (which you also pay for) and show you advertising even though you pay for it. We allow you to browse the site for free and only ask to show advertising in return.

If you want to become a paid member for a nominal fee you wont see hardly any advertising (just the 468x60 banner up top) -- I feel this is a fair and reasonable trade off.

no tv does not scroll commercials on the side of the screen while we're watching the main program. we understand that you needs ad's. keep them on the top and the bottom

No, they totally interrupt your watching experience by completely blocking off what you want to see and forcing you to watch them in between. I would liken this to pop-up ads and interstitials... that your PAYING for the privilege to watch. I believe ours is much less intrusive.
