i have a NX2000 and i want to convert my power steering to manual steering. i have the opportunity to get a manual steering rack from a Sentra E. The only thing i am worried about is the steering ratio. The car is not drivable, thats why i cant drive it to find out for myself.

Manual rack has crap ratio's. If you don't plan on auto-x your car or parallel parking it much, go for it. The classic power rack ratio's are very good. Not worth it, IMO.

Get the front sway bar, smaller than stock.

A steering quickener that a lot of the rally guys are using.

There is a power steering eliminator kit out there also. They are on the second revision and that is supposed to be a the best way to go. Search and you will find it.

Great thats all i needed to know, if the ratios were similar or not. i guess now what i am gonna do is make a custom line rerouting the outlet back to the inlet of the rack. i tried contacting the guy who is making the P/S eliminator kit but i got no response. Besides, with my new plans, i dont need a kit to keep the powersteering/waterpump belt adjustment. ;)

cool thanks for sharing. so let me get this straight, the planetary gear goes in between the steering shaft and increases the steering rate? i looked at my NX and there is no place that will allow me to mount it. ohh well

Yeah, I didn't feel like removing the dash - plus you have to come up with a way to support it, so I just installed a big 14.5" steering wheel that looks like it came from a '72 Nova:

a hybrid 72 nova/91 sentra steering. haha thats a good way to increase steering ratio. you must have some huge forearms if you are using a smaller steering wheel with no p/s.

I also needed some serious dish - note the spacer. Once you fit a cage into one of these things, it's hard to find clearance for a helmeted head without mounting the seat way back.
