your car is in limp mode...bad maf or bad ground. Check the tech section for regrounding maf.

:iagree: the MAF is the issue. Could be disconnected or not ground properly, or even SHOT. But it's DEF the MAF.
I had someone working on my car, the MAF got disconected & then the thing drove liek squat. I pop the hood, noticed it was off, connected it and took it back saying to do a finished job. They ended up hooking me up with a full 4-way alignment after I dropped my car since they remembered me. :biggthump MISTAKES PAY!

Its my brothers car. We made sure the MAF was regrounded and it was. Also checked various sensors just to see what could be causing it. The MAF was wired up according to JWT's diagram so it is correct. The only thing I can think of right now is it could either be the calum ecu (basic daughterboard) or the actual chips have a bad program on them. Any help is appreciated guys because the car had been driving like once all summer due to this issue.

What is your set up on the car? maf, injectors, etc. etc., which calum ecu do you have and is it programmed for your set up?

The car has a basic Avenir setup.

370cc injectors
Z32 MAF
Calum basic daughterboard
Chips programmed for 370cc / Z32 MAF / 4 BAR / No Speed Limit / 7500 rpm

We ran the diagnostic mode to check for code and only thing that came back was the knock sensor. I do not think that knock sensor should be restricting the car to 4 grand though, could it? I am pretty sure its a MAF issue but it has done this with the stock maf, N60 maf, and now a Z32 maf. We tried different programs and nothing worked.

ck grounds on intake even if they look ok loosen bolts and clean em.
ck ground wire from bat to body and engine.
unplug engine coolant temp sensor ck for green or white biuldup on pins. part is so cheap just install new one it could be way out of range
knock sensor is worth a look ck wire ohms from sensor to ecm you may wave a bad wire

also with the key on ck maf vdc key on engine off you should have batt voltage or within .5vdc of batt vdc if 8 or 9 vdc then you have a wirring prob

ck the 5v ref to and ck ground witha test light connected to the batt + if i wont light you got no ground
do the same withe the 12v source to the maf test withe test light grounded if it wont light then you got a prob

i hope this help narrow ur prob down

I'm going to have to go up to my brothers with a dvm and the test probe and see whats up with the car. I have a feeling its something right in front of us that we are not realizing. Hopefully its finished soon even if it is winter.:D

just rember a dvm will not test for current so you may have good looking voltage on a wire thats broken down to the last strand and that wont light a test light

Just went through everything again. Everything seems to check out fine. The car would rev up to about 5,200rpm's then hit a wall and stop. There is no smoke or anything. Injectors are not leaking. The car would idle perfect around 850rpm's. Once I revved the car up to 5K, it would end up stalling out.:(

Could it be any of the following:

-CAS
-AAC
-IACV

Not sure if they would cause the car to hit a wall. Just pulled out the ECU and all the pins are perfectly straight. Not sure if the Calum ecu might be defective. Hopefully can resolve this issue soon!

thinking it could possibly be something that got changed in the .bin on the ecu. have him send you some chips with the basic program on them and see if that fixes anything. you do have the z32 maf 370cc .bin right?

Yup. We also tried the stock program. We also tried an N60 program. Still the same. I just tried a stock ecu and maf. I put the Z32 maf again and now it is throwing 3 codes:

1,2 MAF

3,4 Knock sensor

2,1 Ignition signal

What exactly should I change for this ignition signal? Hmm. Time to double check all of the wiring. Back to the JWT maf wiring.:D
