I just got my white '91 SE-R running after a loooong hiatus (thanks for the head, Ben!), and all is well, except I noticed a spitting sound coming from under the car. I'm not sure, but I think this already existed when it last ran. Anyway, I started poking around under the car looking for the noise, and I noticed that if I used my screwdriver to ground the b-pipe to the heat shields in the area that the sound was coming from, I would see sparks. Could this just be static, or is it indicative of a larger problem? I hope not, because the car runs great. FWIW, the ground strap on my cat has long since rotted away, could it be as simple as fixing that?
