Krider Racing pulled off a miracle and placed 5th out of 71+ teams while piloting their 91 Nissan Sentra SE-R in the 2007 24 Hours of Lemons at Thunderhill, December 29-30. Jalopnik.com gave the team great coverage during the event and picked us to win. At hour seven we were in first place when three, yes three, of our right front studs broke. We brought the car in and swapped out the right front spindle (from a donor Sentra XE we had in the pits) and got the car back on track within in 23 minutes. Not too shabby, but it put us into fifth place at the end of the first day.

The second day things were looking good. We had avoided black flags and penalties for ten hours of racing (unlike a lot of teams around us who earned horrendous penalties.) We did a driver swap and our new driver stuffed the right side into the tire chicane at the end of the front straight resulting in a 30 minute penalty. This put us into 16th place. After our penalty was over (seemed like forever) we got back in the car and put it down driving the car up 11 spots to fifth for the finish. Twenty minutes before the checkered came out I could hear the right front going bad again. When we brought the car back into the pits once the race was over, we had broken another stud. Note to self: "Get bigger studs!"

so how much did the financial lender pay the organizers to not crush the car?

<LOL> It was a great time, and I think the _participants_ chose the right car to crush. That Mazdasaurus was a sandbagger if there ever was one! Their V6 motor probably had a hundred HP over the SR and the car itself was an ex-touring car.

It really is strange that you broke so many studs. Never would've guessed that as a weak point. Great foresight to have the donor on hand!

See you at Altamont! Need a driver? :)

Napa Valley Muffler did the door bars on our cage, set up our window net flawlessly and did the exhaust on this car. He did excellent work and I would recommend him to anyone in the Bay Area for muffler work or fabrication.

Update on the results, besides finishing 5th overall we finished 2nd in class. We are pretty excited about our finish.

Shig, I just fired a driver, the one who creamed the right side of our car into the chicane and cost us the race. He's gone. We are going to retire the SE-R from Lemons duty. Fix it, update it with a lot of the sponsored parts we received and then probably use it in another racing forum. Not sure where yet but it will compete again. The car worked great.

We will probably build an entire new car for the Altamont race. I'm not sure what yet but the B-13 did do well.

I'm going to next time I need pads! I haven't burned through my current set though.

Yes. No.

What about for Altima/240SX? IIRC, those all use the same pads. I know we got some Hawk Blues for ours, but they don't make them for a "G20"...

P10's have the same front pads as 89-93 240SX's with ABS

12 gallon fuel cell, light on the right foot for good mileage.
