I have looked for some time, and I cant find info on the cam duration and ect. for any of the cams on the market. Could some one help me I don’t much care about the JWT. I know that people are using others. I need to get a good cam for my car. It doesn't need to be street able ( drag only)

thank NIC

C1's would probably be your best bet. They have slightly less duration than the S4's but a lot higher lift. On a turbo motor, you dont wanna run to much duration. Duration and overlap are directly related. To much overlap and you will blow your boost out the exhaust. Your turbo will definately benefit form the higher lift found on the C1's.

I was told that if I used the C1 cams then I have to use there springs and retainers. I think that they are over priced and not worth the money. I also am thinking about the lasher killers (solid lifters), and I read that you need a solid cam with them.

one more thing I was told by JWT that the spring and retainers that they had would stick or float and that is why they don’t have them anymore.

Has anybody used the C1 cams with other springs and retainers?

thanks NIC

JWT springs and retainers are really over priced. i would get them from other manufacturers such as JUN. i think comp cams makes springs and retainers but dont quote me on that. go check it out and let us know.

you cant just mix and match springs and cams. These cams cause vibrations in the valvetrain and the springs are harmonically tuned to the cam. you'll damage some expensive stuff if the cam you choose causes vibrations to the fifth order or even secondary harmonics. or rather any frequency that is an octave or two higher than the base frequency.

I understand. thanks, Does anybody have some suggestions on a set of cams that will work well with ferrea valves, springs, and retainers? I think that is the direction that I am heading for at the moment. ( if there are any other suggestions for springs, retainers, cam combo please let me know.)
what about running HKS? anybody...
