kaotekxe 01-03-2008, 12:52 PM Hey guys,
I'm trying to find out from someone that has done it or anyone that has a good guess, lol. I have my nos kit from when I was na and I've been wondering if I can run a small amount on my turbo setup. Its a stock bluebird engine(t25), hotshot fmic, 370's, 3in exhaust, walbro fp, bluebird ecu, xs mbc 7psi low-12psi high.
I was thinking I can run stock boost, raise fuel pressure a little bit and run a 50 shot.. What do u guys think? Will it be fater if I just run 14psi on the turbo?
I have a race setup with a buddy of mine at the track, he has an 01 z28 with bolt ons. Lets just say the looser has to wear a pink thong down a public road. So I don't want to loose.lol
Born2Ride 01-04-2008, 11:41 PM Im sparying a 50hp "wet" shot off the line to help spool my turbo, but I would not recommend spraying the car all the way down the track.Make sure its a "wet" shot, and maybe back the timing a little, you should be fine
Johnny wangwang 01-05-2008, 04:00 PM Turn your boost up to 17pounds and go get some race gas. You wont need that Nitrous! You should be able to eat him with a good launch. Your turbo can max its self out exaust flow wise. So the only thing that the nitrous is doing will be making the intake charge alot cooler. Id just spray the nitrous into the intercooler

It is perfectly fine to spray the car the whole way, do not tell him its not
I would go with somthing bigger than 370cc injectors for it, and make sure you keep your boost in check while your spraying.
I suggest turning it down befor you spray, to see how much it may spike
Also if this is a fullbolt LS1 or close to it, stock its a very low 13 sec car
You will need some kind of tire trust me if this is 1/4 race, they hook up much better than a fwd car...
I sold my 2000 Z28 not to long ago

Hes still going to be making power on spray what are you talking about?
There is two DSMs on DSMTUNERs with(GASP) STOCK T25s spraying...............upwards of a 200shot!
Its all in how you setup a nitrous car, a nitrous turbo car is different than a boosted or NA car..
Learn to read your plugs, if you dont belive me ill post up the threads
LS1tech.com and vist there nitrous section

I dont know if you realize it but your coming off as if your trying to be a know it all...that doesnt work over here...you prob knew that though(GASP). No where did I say sprayig the nitrous in to the motor wouldnt make power. Im not talking out of my ass here bud. And we arent talking about DSM's. No offense, But thats the difference between DSM guys and SR20 guys. Were not going to run 20psi on our T25's and then spray a nitrous shot on top like you crazy DSM guys do. Im not going to sit here and tell this guy to do something that I see as Pointless when theres a better way. People on this forum (me included) have been playing with these cars for a long while. We know what were doing.
kaotekxe- You can listen to the DSM guy and youll probably beat your boy with the 01 Z28. Or you can listen to me and youll probably beat your boy with the Z28. The difference is that my way will actually let you beat the guy without beating on your motor. If you have to turn the boost DOWN to run the 50 shot whats the point in running the 50shot through the motor? Just Turn your boost UP to 17-18psi for the run and go fill the tank up with a bit of race gas. Take that 50shot and spray it into the intercooler rather then the motor and you still get the cooling effects without the added neg effects of the nitrous going through the motor(having to turn the boost down). Why turn the boost down when you can turn the boost UP and STILL spray the 50shot? With the lil T25 at 17-18lbs you will be making enough tq that you can keep up with or eat this guy (depending on the mods).
If you had a T28 or something like that I would be like hell yeah...spray the 50shot in the motor and run like 10lbs. But the T25 is small and cant flow that much air. The one thing I will agree with this guy about is that you are going to need tires! With the setup I just mentioned you will def have at least a mid 12 sec car. BUt your going to need at least BFG Drag Radials to get those times.
Johnny wangwang 01-06-2008, 06:50 PM BTW after reading your mods list...unless your running 4 bar and you have a Wideband in the car dont do it my way. Im running 50lbers, a Z32 MAf, and Ive got an SAFC, and a Wideband gauge and I run 17-18pounds on my rare crazy runs with my T25. Youd be pretty much maxing EVERYTHING out on your setup if you did that.
http://www.sr20forum.com/turbo/173301-t-25-powah-dyno-vid.html
Seems he did it and it worked out Ok for him with just a 4bar setup though....BTW if you read, nobody in that thread believes him because nobody that posted in the thread had run an SR T25 that high up in boost on purpose! The numbers make since though
Born2Ride 01-06-2008, 09:14 PM Yea if your spraying a dry shot you could spray your intercooler and run the higher boost and make big power safely like johnny wang said.If you are spraying a wet shot as I am, go ahead and spray it into the motor off the line until you start building big boost.Only reason I said dont spray all the way down the track is because I dont know how well tuned his car is.A shot of NOS on top of 30lbs of boost is not a good combo.
Johnny wangwang 01-06-2008, 10:14 PM Whatever you do make sure you get some Drag Radials AT LEAST! Big power FWD cars play catch up most of the time since we dont have the best launches. But you can only let that Camaro get so far ahead of you or by the time you catch him the race will be over and youll be walking around in a pink thong.
96SERTurbo 01-06-2008, 10:21 PM What is this 17-18 lbs on a T25 talk? My T25 cannot hold more than 9 lbs or so to redline. It spikes only for a brief period? How are you guys holding that much boost?
Johnny wangwang 01-06-2008, 11:20 PM Its not holding. But it holds it to about 5000rpm. From there it tapers off down to 10psi if you have a manual boost controller.
96SERTurbo 01-06-2008, 11:39 PM I have a T25 on a SR20DE, and I run ~12.5 lbs. In cold weather is hits damn near 100% duty cycle when it's at 12.5 lbs. MAF voltage is 5.0 there too. Does anyone know how many lbs a T28 can hold to red line?
kaotekxe 01-10-2008, 01:33 AM I have a set of micky thompson slicks. I ran 13.1 at stock boost last time I went to the track..
I don't have 4 bar, wideband or any sort of engine management..
I like the race gas and 17 psi idea.. Do you guys think ill be ok at that? Or atleast 15 psi?
I might just buy the kit to shoot the nitrous into the intercooler.

Yeah youll be cool if you like replacing motors.
