Just wondering what is the proper offset on the NX2000.
I am thinking of getting 17inch rims 205/40/17 and I hear
some people go with 35 or 38 offsets. Is this true?
Does the rims stick out more if the numbers are smaller?
17x7 or 17x7.5?
Thanks,
Hot nx

Yes, its true. If you are going with 17" wheels, you'll probably want 35mm offset. With 205 you can use 17 x 7. I have 16 x 7 w/ 35 mm offset and use 205/45 size tires. Why do you want 17s? Looks?
From a performance standpoint, they'll definitely slow you down and also your odometer/speedometer will be off by several percent.

im looking at getting 17's also just for the pimp value...rollin on dubs yo!
but will probably swap back to stocks for the track.
haha my friend has 18's off his ITR and he swears he's gotten less speeding tickets...

I have 17's with 205/40's and they look great. My car is dropped on Eibach prokits. But when turning to the extreme right, it rubs. Also I must not I have 40 offset which is severly close to rubbing. I suggest 38 or 35 to be safe.
And yes it looks PIMP!!!! :D

Hey I have 18's on my car. KMC Suicides. Look cool as hell and only weigh 18lbs. Pretty good for an 18. At the track(drag) the 18's are a 10th slower than my 14's. The 14's are some BBS wheels that came factory on a BMW. They weigh 15lbs. I think my factory NX wheels weigh 17lbs.

Does the 35mm offset stick out of the car more than the 40mm?
If so wouldn't the 35mm rub against the wheel well?

The offset isn't really a concern on your car, but you have to get 17 by 7's. 7.5's will rub real bad on the rear strut. I have 7s and small spacers in the rear.

I have a set of 17x7.5 35mm offset Kosei K-1's with Yoko A520 205/40-17 (for sale, btw), and they do not rub on the struts or the trailing arms (when installed properly!). I do have AGX struts and Ground Control coilovers...not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Well I don't know what to tell you. Everyone that I have talked to has had to use spacers especially with a 7.5 wheel. Oh and I do install them corectlly. That is what I did in my last job. Anyone ever mounted a 24 inch wheel. I have and it sucks.

Why mine fit w/o rubbing? Probably a combination of the AGX strut and the 35 offset. Call it an educated guess...
