Quick question guys...I know that running rich is better than running lean on my Turbo 96 SE-R but lately i've noticed that my gas mileage has gone to crap. Worse than when turbo was originally installed. I'm thinking that my o2 might be shot...but haven't checked it yet. Also could I run rich to a slight leak somewhere in my intercooler piping? My vacum reading is pretty normal. Im reading about 14 on my boost gauge. Im using the JWT for engine management. Is there a safe way to slightly lean out the mixture? Maybe advancing the timing? I know the JWT ECU is supposed to work off of 15 degrees but would it hurt to run it at maybe 17? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Irwin,
You probably do have some kind of vacuum leak. While the car is idling, pinch the PVC hose and see if the rpms increase. If so, then you got a vacuum leak. Also, I'm registering 16 in Hg vacuum at idle with low compression. You should have at least that. Another clue that you have a vac leak.
As for gas mileage, I was getting some poor mpg's (like around 23-24 mpg), but I discovered that if you actually drive like everyone else (70 mph steady on the freeway) I got over 28mpg.
Good luck man. When are we going to the track so I can 0wnZ joo meng? ;)

You definitely have a vacuum leak. I have 14 in/ of vacuum with JWT C1 cams. Steve has 20 in/hg of vacuum with his Tomei cams.

What about the O2 sensor? Have you guys ever changed yours?I don't have a turbo(yet) but my gas mileage has been pretty bad lately.

if it gets pretty suddenly bad, like mid teens for mileage, you get a MIL, and kind of crappy low rpm/load response, and your O2 sensor is somewhere around 100K miles old, then it is likely that.
