I have a GTir manifold on my BB SR20DET. I have a GT3071R-WG on the way. What do I need to purchase or modify to clear everything and let it be a direct drop in? It will come with a regular ATP 7psi internally wastegate and an ATP CNC milled wastegate bracket. do I need to grind the block or anything else? Will all of my stock oil and water lines fit?
thanks

It will need very little mods in order to fit right. The stock lines will fit.
No grinding of the block required.

i know but its expensive. I remember reading your post and you said that as long as i have the stock O2 housing (J pipe) I should be ok with boost creeps right?
can you please explain to me in detail or show me pictures on how to modify the atp universal bracket so that everything will clear?
thanks

jp - When you had the oem gtir j-pipe, you had no boost creep right? I have an OEM gtir j-pipe with 3" downpipe and 3" catback exhaust.

Then you are going to be fine...with the oem jpipe... but you will lose about 15whp at 10 lbs...all over the place... if you put a external its will be less tend to knock and ad about 5-8 whp more..
278whp at 10 lbs with the oem jpipe.... 294whp with external and 3 Dp...same 10 lbs hope this help you
cheers.

Thanks for the reply JP you always seem to have great advice :biggthump .
I can afford to lose that much power, since I want only 350whp for now. one more question though, with the ATP internal wastegate, if I buy the GT28RS bracket from ATP like this one http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=tp&Product_Code=ATP-WGT-011&Category_Code=BCS what else do I need? Do i need an extended wastegate rod? also, do you have the .64A/R or .86? I have the .64 A/R, so am I still going to be ok with the oem gtir O2 housing? I may also try porting the wategate port with a dremel tool. your detailed reply would be much appreciated.

so what is the logic with the oem j-pipe eliminating boost creep? Is it because since the oem j-pipe (o2 housing) is small enough that it creates back pressure and helps push the wastegate flapper to open?

yes...
when I use the 3071 .. its was the trim 56 and the 0.86 back housing.. I did use the 28rs wastegate..I did modified a little. but it was not dificult...
17-9lbs with out cams will net you 350whp...

how did you modify it? did you have to add any wastegate rod extenders? I just want to make sure that atp's gt28rs bracket is all I need.
thanks
