I have a 2000 P11 G20 and i want more power. I am not sure which route i want to go.

I wanted to get a W10 sr20det motor and also use a VE head similar to Martin set up. But there are a lot of complications when i do this because i own 2000+ G20 (stupid 32 bit ecu, I wish i had a 99 P11, i would go this route). I am not even sure if anyone did something like this on 00+ G20. If i do this swap i will be able to send my ECU to JWT or Calum. This makes tuning much easier.

or

Turboing my NA motor (Which has high milage)like Koojo's/Domiken and add the VE head (if possible...i never heard anyone doing this). There would be less complications but i won't have the luxury of sending my ecu to Calum or JWT. I would have to use piggy backs like emanage and AEM EMS. Basically tuning it myself (which is gonna be a pain the ass too).

I definatly want turbo.

Please guys i am so confused and i don't know which is the best route for me.

I thank everyone in advance.

oh yea mods...i wasn't sure if i should have posted in Turbo or Engine...if you this it belong in a different section. Feel free to move it

some of you know i posted this on G20.net. but i know there more turbo peeps here!

i realy dig the idea of addind the turbo set up to you stock high mileage motor for tuning and sorting out the buggs and after it blows then swap in the det/ve

thats what i did to my 2000 G20...
turbo'd the stock motor with an SAFC..
when it blew, swapped out the bottom end for a DET and changed over to emanage... probably your best bet for simplicity

I say for now, Turbo your motor, use the 370's with your stock maf and computer with an SAFC to help control the fuel.Simplest route, I have a 99 G20T that I'm in the process of turbo'ing, I had a VE and was gonna drop the head on to a det bottom end,but I want alot of power and less hassels. So I sold the VE and brought a fully built DE bottom end,740cc tomei injectors,t3/t4 turbo Calum ECU etc....... Its all up to you and how much power you want.

SAFC helps but does not do much. People found out that they are running too lean. I am guess i can run piggy backs and get it tuned.

Secondly 00+ have 32 bit ecu. Can someone explain how can i make it into a 16bit ecu?

dam where u get a fully built DE block?

Greddy emanage should help out better, as far as the 00 ecu problem???? i'm not sure, but you might be able to get an ecu harness that will convert you to obd1, but I'm not 100% on that.As far as the fully built bock, it was expensive but I got it for a good price :)
