Hey, gang--

This past weekend (July 20), some of us Midwest and South region forum members had a dyno session in Nashville, Tennessee, hosted by the main man himself, Eric96ser.

Forum members Calum, Ben Davis, Kevin (Bowlcut) and Thomas Reynolds were also there.

Official title of the weekend: SweatFest '02. It was 95 degrees in the dyno garage, and we spent all day in that heat. Friday night, we installed a new ClutchNet 6-puck disk in my car, as well.

Here's the results and some pics. Enjoy.

ClutchNet 6-puck disk that went into my '93 SE-R. Purchased through the most-able Louis Anaya in Arizona. Pretty...

Forum overlord Ben Davis looks at the mess. Note the tranny on the floor...

Eric96ser and Ben D. putting my car back together. These guys are hell on wheels when it comes to SR20 clutch jobs. They're pros.

Ben Davis got the honors of the ceremonial first pour of the Redline Heavy Shockproof tranny fluid. Note how thick it is.

Saturday was Dyno Day aka SweatFest '02, in Nashville. There's my old girl up on the dyno, Eric on the left and Ben on the right.

Here's how my '93 SE-R did at 9psi of boost. Not bad for a 153,000 mile engine, I think. My timing was set at 11 degrees, we discovered. By bumping it up to 15 degrees for the JWT ecu, we unleashed 12 more hp.

For those of you with fast connections, here's the link to a 4.9mb QuickTime video of my 212whp dyno pull: http://www.ineednos.com/~gperry/212whp.mov

Here's what my driveway looked like Saturday morning. Yep, my neighbors think I'm strange.

Its a good thing we don't have a neighborhood association here, I would be kicked out of here. We were working on the clutch until 2am.

Looks like a damn SER meet at the mall or something =)
I wish I had some guys who lived close to me to help with my installs.

Hey Greg I thought your car was only boosting 7psi, I guess you got that sorted out? Nathan(Black93) and I did a clutch in his car this weekend too, our job was just HELL. Nice numbers, I hope to be boosting soon! Did that dyno have a A/F meter on it, kinda interested in what kind of ratios the old JWT is putting out.

Travis--

We made runs at 8 psi and 9psi. We bumped the timing up to where it should be between the two 9psi runs. The car *just began* to lean out at 9psi. Just a little.
Eric and Ben can chime in to what A/F ratios were happening then. I really wasn't watching the display for that.

Louis--

Doh! Now I feel bad. Smack Eric around for not notifying you. I just assumed you would know, or that you weren't in town.

My apologies, on Eric's behalf.

I know where he lives, if you'd like to pay him a visit. ;)

Louis dont worry Eric told no one. I didnt know till Calum called Eric friday night after we saw the torn cv boot. So its all Eric's fault, as usual.

I thought I posted it to the local list. I'm sorry. :(

My summary of last weekend:

Coke machines that don't take dollars suck.
Greg's car is pure cool.
Fmax kits look sweeeeeeet.
Eric rules; he does axles the morning after (even if it does kill his average).

I thought a t-28 would have put up a bit more power before getting lean. You are running a 3 bar and 370's right?

Are you using the stock MAF? I wonder how high the MAF voltage was at high rpm's and 9psi??

Yes, I'm running 3-bar, stock SE-R MAF, and 370 injectors.

Keep in mind, boys, that my engine has 153,000 miles on it. Surely it's a little tired. The 2 years of nitrous probably didn't help things, either.

I'm happy with the numbers, regardless.

Have you upgraded (or replaced) the original fuel pump? I thought you had, but I didn't see it in this thread. The engine being just broken in ;) shouldn't lead to a lean condition. It is something fixable.

How lean did it get? Was it leaner than a well tuned SR20 turbo should be?

Jason--

Walbro 255lph is in the tank.

I'm waiting for Ben or Eric to chime in on the A/F numbers from my dyno session. They were manning the controls and watching the display from the wide-band O2 sensor, and can give you much more specific numbers.

It was just *barely* starting to lean out at 9psi. Just beginning. A little.
