: Buckin' Bronco!!!
Jaketips42 07-23-2002, 04:31 PM  I have a 93 se-r w/ 91 sr20. she's got 146,000 miles. I go to give it full throttle and it bucks like crazy. like it's only firing on two. i've checked and done iridium plugs, nology wires, fuel filter, cap, rotor, etc. Wondering if it could be a O2 sensor or fuel pump. OPEN to OPINIONS!!!! Thanks:eek:
Toolapcfan 07-23-2002, 04:58 PM My truck used to do that when the fuel pump was bad. Spose that could be it, FPR or injectors perhaps?
Black200sxSER 07-23-2002, 06:23 PM Get rid of the Nology wires, and iridium plugs...try stock wires, or NGK's....and NGK plugs...see if that clears up your problem. You could try a friends wires and plugs if you have someone closeby
LogicalRetard 07-23-2002, 10:48 PM Stock plugs and wires are the way to go! I heard that even those 9 second Honda's and all still use their stock wires....geez.
nx2000racer 07-23-2002, 11:05 PM leaky seals around the injectors??
SERracer01 07-23-2002, 11:10 PM ok this is easy...check your motor mounts they're prolly shot to hell. When I had my 98 with all bolt ons+ s3 cams, fidanza flywheel and JWT stage 1 clutch, i was racing a honda and it I started to buck like crazy straight from launch. It was alright to cruise around and not punch it, but when I really got on it I started to buck like crazy.
Thats my .02
tommy 07-23-2002, 11:50 PM Another thing to check is the TPS sensor voltage. Make sure it is within spec. I can't remember what that is supposed to be now, but I had a similar problem, and my TPs voltage was way off. Once I adjusted the TPS sensor to read the correct voltage, the bucking was gone. And it was some really really awful bucking.
Hope this helps.
Fonque 07-24-2002, 03:44 PM how do you adjust the tps??
*** i checked the fsm and compared it to se-r.net and the 2 are quite different.
Jaketips42 07-24-2002, 04:54 PM The wires are recent. My tps is up to par, and i jiggled the o2 sensor wires today and was reving it at the same time. it backfired out of the intake......, either that or a gunshot. Oh yeah, all today it ran like the wind. as soon as i got in the drive way, it started again.   :o
Jaketips42 07-29-2002, 08:46 PM It was those piece of shit nologys

I have iridium plugs and nology wires I dont buck
Black200sxSER 07-30-2002, 10:39 AM Give it time....he also has 146k on his motor..yours may just be a little more tolerant of it at this point. Every time I hear of someone changing to the greatest thing since sliced bread for ignition wires/plugs...they have problems. Hell, I have even heard of this with a few high HP turbo cars, and the owners throwing the stocks back on..and whalla..problems fixed. Im not saying you will have problems, and Im sure now if you did, you wouldnt say anything..but thre are alot of people who have had problems. Just take it as general information for when you post as to why your car drives like shit, or down on power..or wont idle right...etc, etc..:)
Crono1321 07-30-2002, 11:03 AM Are nology wires all that bad? I thought the were practically the best for the car. Magnecore also, right?

Jaketips42 07-30-2002, 02:50 PM I wrote them a niiice letter. :D
silverser99 07-30-2002, 08:28 PM Ive had this setup going for about 33k miles and no bucking if I did buck I would report it and boycott nology but Im yet to buck
BTW how long do Nology Wires last???? My Iridium plugs said they last longer than Platinum so what is that 65-70k miles
Crono1321 07-30-2002, 11:15 PM I think those numbers on the denso box apply to "grandma driving." AKA shifting at 3000rpms, lightly tapping the gas when necessary.
