Hi, I have a '92 Classic with 109K and I was wondering if the timing chain ever needs to be replaced. I tried to search the forums but came up with no results.

I've seen 300K mile se-r's w/original chain. Get 2000 oil galleys, swap those in, use only factory oil filters and you should be good. The chains rarely need replacing, but if you want your se-r to last, those tips will help. The stock oil galleys sometimes clog, the 2000 ones are slightly larger. OEM oil filters help reduce start-up chatter, they hold oil pressure better, which is what the timing change tensioner uses to function. Bad tensioners can cause premature wear on the TC. My $.02.
