I'm having the MSD Digital 6 installed once the turbo goes in, but unfortunately I don't have any specifics at this time... It's a very good ignition from what I've heard...

The stock system seems to be working out alright for me. I know Frank laid down 380hp on a completely stock ignition system with the plugs gaped to .020. Now, I know that at those levels you can benefit HP wise by using an after market unit. I would think nothing more than an MSD 6A would do the trick. The other units are very nice but I don’t know if I need all the extra stuff. O yeah I almost forgot an MSD 6A can be bought from summit for $149.00, the *** model with all that fancy stuff will run you $319.95.
If you search the archives I beieve you can find instructions on how to install both models way better than I could try to explain.

a *** doesnt have a distributor or a traditional "coil", it uses a crank angle sensor inplace of the distributor. That the extent of my knowlegde on the subject.

Split Fire has developed a new *** system for the SR20DE motor, it doesnt use typical plug wires.....im not sure what kind of ignition this is but its in Summit Racings Sport Compact Catalog but not on their site.
I really want to get that for my Gti-R but i cant find anymore info on it.
