A Friends girlfriend has a 2000 Sentra with the 1.8 in it and he was going to change the oil and the dipstick broke inside the tube. Only the plastic handle came out when he pulled it out.
So maybe someone can help me find a solution on getting it out. Is there a way for the filler tube to come out or is the pan gonna have to be dropped and removed that way?

The tube can just be pulled out without droping anything but the are a pain to get back in.I have done it before at the shop just checking the oil and the tube has pulled out.But is the enough of the dipstick up to get a pair of needle nose pliers on it.

Have you tried like one of the smaller 5 pound magnets i think they make one small enough to fit in

You take the hose running from the intake to the valve cover pull the end off get some heater hose and use light shop air pressure to pop it up and then grab it happened a lot on these cars we did about 5 a week at my old job @ midas it's quiet easy to do plus a new dipstick is about 12 dollars

The magnet won't work cause there's a bit of the plastic from where it broke off on the tip of the dipstick that's not allowing it to stick..

You try using a plumber's snake? Those are nice for grabbing small items a magnet won't grab...
