I finally threw on tein s-techs... 2.4" drop in the front.. Alignment is shot now.. As I figured it would be.. Ive searched found many result, but I want peoples opinions who have these s-tech's.. Should I just get the pillow mounts? Can I have it aligned as it is with the stock coil mounts, and get it close to par... Car is just all over the road now, as much as i love the feel, I dont feel too safe with it. Also can most shops with alignment tools be able to adjust the camber plate as needed?
Thanks

The rest of your suspension is going to be shot pretty quick if you don't take them off. Go read the suspension thread on our cars--they've only got 3 inches of travel from the factory. You are now riding around with a half inch of travel.
These were on my car for about two and a half years before I got rid of them, and when I took everything apart my left strut bearing was shattered. Not to mention that it rode like garbage with them on.
They will only give you trouble. And trust me, I'm being nice. Go take them off before anyone else reads your post.
Edit: and yes, you can get it in spec with an excellent technician, which I was fortunate enough to have when I had those springs. But I also had it done elsewhere and was told that it couldn't be brought into spec...9 out of 10 shops you take it to won't get your car right.
Take the springs off. Take the springs off. Take the springs off.

That is why the Tein S-Techs are Thee Worst Springs Ever Designed for Our Cars.

The rest of your suspension components will be shot soon enough with those dangerous, improperly designed, peice of sh*t, springs.

You have poor searching skills.

but I want peoples opinions who have these s-tech's..
They suck hairy, funky, dingle-berry covered, sweaty, cheesey, ass-crack.
Hopefully you don't get any opinions from anyone who has them currently on their vehicle.

You need to uninstall those hideous springs before you do anything else.
Car is just all over the road now, as much as i love the feel, I dont feel too safe with it.
You have less than half-inch of travel. You are riding on your bumpstops the minute you plant your ass in your seat.

Brilliant assessment. :biggthump
Curbed, I *believe* you sent me pictures of the S-Tech carnage that was done to the rest of your suspension. My e-mail account got lost (Time Warner became Comcast) along with the pictures. When I get a new e-mail account (next week) can you re-send the pics? Do you still have them? If so I will update the Suspension Thread with your information.
Thanks!

When i bought my car these springs were installed and it road like i had a piece of wood for springs. Way to low and it is really unsafe to drive like that. Take them off and get some decent springs and some decent shocks. Like everyone stated above go read the suspension thread and you will know what to do next.
ShawnB didnt write that so he could remember all the research he did, he made it so people like you and me can learn almost everything about our suspensions in 15 minutes of reading instead of hours of searching.
We should all thank ShawnB for doing that and posting a thing like this is no where near anything close to a thank you.
So ShawnB Thank You, im sorry you had to post here and read this crap.

I am going to quote both you and curbed. Seriously, this thread just made it into The Suspension Thread.
I'll get the pictures from Curbed in the next week or two. He has pictures of ruined bearings (?) and all kinds of nasty sh*t. Steve (98sr20ve) got a look at the pics. He said the damage was ugly. The Teins leave you with next to zero travel and for a bonus they screw up the OEM supension geometry. That puts incredible strain on parts that are not supposed to be stressed in such a manner. Therefore those parts breaks or wear out prematurely.

Bingo. The information from experts is all there outside of a few updates and edits, which is a never ending task. I get it updated about monthly at this point, which means it is always plenty current.

You're most welcome.
I have a knack for English, and can write pretty well. However, I possess no mechanical experience or skills. I wanted to contribute to the Forum Knowledge Base and...there you go. I saw a very strong need for the knowledge to be assembled in one location. However, the Suspension Thread has become more successful and referenced than I could possibly have imagined.
No problems on reading this particular thread. I just wish Slut had read the Suspension Thread before pissing money down the drain.
