Hi all,

I have a gt3037 coming and already have a tial 40mm wastegate and am going to install it on a standard gtir manifold. Will need t get the flange angle altered i relise that, any advice greatly received.

Main question is what have people done regarding the oil/water pipes to the turbo, do i need to get different ones made up what diameter should they be, anybody know what size etc ends should be etc

Thanks in advance all

Surry

Hoping the car will be fast with above turbo setup and forged pistons etc.

When i installed my gti-r manny and 3037 it was a full bolt -on.
For me i didnt need to angle manifold or flange what so ever.
One of the first to actually do this set-up i believe. I took a chance.

The oil fittings are slightly different from the t-28. I went got some earls fittings with steel braided line. The water line i used 90 degree fittings as well. The best thing to do is just take the turbo to a shop to get the best fitment. I wish i would have wrote down the sizes i used .

I have had t-25.t-28,gt2835 and currently 3037. IMHO the gt3037
spools just as fast as the t-25 and t-28. The power doesnt seem to drop off on the gt3037 like it does with the t-25 and t-28. It pulls all the way to to the jwt ecu rev limit with no drop off. If i could rev to 9000rpm i bet it would still be pulling. Iam currently only running 10psi which SOTP feels like 12-13psi on a t-28. The gt2835 is also a good turbo with good hp capability. The turrbine and compressor wheels though are not as well matched on gt2835 in comparison to the gt3037. Which would account for the better effeciency.

i got a .60 a/r comp 56 trim .73 a/r turbine . Its just as big as a t3/t04e the plus thing about it spools fast and its capable of same if not more HP levels depending on set up.

i have a gtir and i am planning on upgrading the turbo to the GT3037 as well how ever i am interested to know how you put an external wastegate on the gtir manifold. Did you just have a metal shop drill a hole and weld in a flange?

While your answering questions, what size injectors and maf are you running?

I had a someone that i know who owns a iron works shop who drilled a hole in the manifold. Then i had a header manufactuer that i know of weld the flange on. Im using 50lb and cobra maf and 225lph walbro .
