This is on a fresh jdm motor swap. I so happen to break a valve spring, I had to wait like a week to recieve it from courtesy parts nissan. Got around to installing the spring and everything went ok. Lisle valve keeper removal tool :biggthump. Works great!! So I screwed up the timing when i was putting the cam back in. But I got it all corrected.
When I had to pull the timing chain tensioner, it jumped out kind of and I lost one of the screws. So I put everything back together, but only having one screw on the tensioner. IM hoping that it didnt drop into the motor where the oil filter goes. Im like fuck. So I went ahead and started the motor. It was running I was like yah! Then I hear this splashing sound as if someone has a gallon of water and was pouring it on the floor. So I turned off the motor and go take a look, and I see a river of oil coming from under the car. I mean it had to be more than two quarts. Its only on the passenger side of the car.
When I first put the car back together before I found out that the timing was off I tried to start it. It cranked over twice and made this awful sound, like the timing chain could be caught somewhere. My question is could the timing chain mess up the crank seal or can it be the tensioner with only on screw holding it? causing this major oil leak.
