Okay here is my problem. i dropped in my rebuilt gti-r into my 1991 sentra. i have the f-max manifold and a T3/T4 turbo. once i dropped in the engine and secured all motor mounts out of curiosity i attached the manifold to see if the turbo will fit. i put the turbo on with the exhaust side facing left and intake right. that way the downpipe goes straight down. now problem occurs. i kept the gti-r top mount intercooler so if i point the intake side up then the IC piping would go above the hood line. if i point it down i can't run the IC piping back under the turbo and then up because the 3 inch downpipe will be in the way along with the radiator hose and then the altenator. so that means i have to turn the turbo around so that the intake is on the left and the exhaust is on the right. cool. the intake side pointed up lines up pretty much straight with the IC and then the downpipe would be able to snake back underneath the turbo and then down under the block. here is where the problem is with that setup. the turbo intake side is to big and won't allow the radiator to be installed. solution is to get an aftermarket radiator around the size of the 2000 civic SI (just an example *** my friend has that car and the radiator looks like it is the right size to fit) and then custom make some brackets to secure the radiator and custom make a pipe for the coolant going into the block and out of the block. even though i don't want to go to a FMIC that is also a possible alternative. someone at a local shop said that i could take the nismo radiator that is in the car now and cut it to fit as long as i retain 60% of the radiator.

any info on this problem would be appreciated. at least i finally got the engine in......it has only been 7 months down time. so that is something for me to be happy about but yet still another problem.......please help. peace

From what I read it looks like you are trying to keep the GTi-R top mount setup with an FMAX manifold and turbo. I know an FMAX kit is made to work with a front mount, not a top mount. That turbo sits up HIGH in the engine bay and I really don't know if you could snake piping up to it or not. On the FMAX kit the compressor outlet is make to point straight down. I think you are going to have to front mount the GTi-R intercooler, which is MUCH BETTER that top mounting anyways. Greg Perry had a link about how to front mount your GTi-R intercooler. Greg?
