: What's a good jack?

My 2-ton jack is starting to get realllly old and creaky and it's leaking oil. I decided I needed a new one for safety's sake and went to the Sears Craftsman web site.

Let me tell you, if you want to see some scary $hit, pull up that site and start reading reviews on the Craftsman jacks. Tons and tons of people have had their jacks failing, leaking, and otherwise breaking. Their aluminum 2 ton has something like 1 1/2 stars out of 5. I'm surprised Sears leaves the reviews on the site and doesn't recall the product.

There's no way I'm buying one of those jacks, but I'm not sure where else to shop. Any recommendations?

I highly recommend this one from Harbor Freight:

Its very light, I actually brought it with me to the NJ/NY convention, then some people that asked about it there had it the following year at the Chicago convention lol. I've had it for 3 years now with no issues. Well, my friend broke a caster on it *** it dug down into the asphalt and ripped it right off its bearings. Got a new part right from Harbor Freight for like $13 shipped and its back in commission.

Its also very low, so it gets under a lowered B13 with no problem at all.

I need to get one of those, but I also need to get a heavier one for my truck. Those don't lift high enough to get the rear tires off the ground unless you lift by the axle (which is annoying if you're doing suspension work).

Anyone have any suggestions (other than lower my truck :D).
