: how to paint needles

i just installed some amber bulbs in my cluster, and have decided i want to paint my needles red also to match the redline. how would i go about doing this with out taking the needles actually off?? or can't I?

If you look closely at the needles, they have a white piece of tape on the bottom of them. You can change that with some red tape, or red paint, but you would have to take the needles off for that. I have heard of people using red translucent paint to get the work done, but use very thin coats.

The white portion on my needles was paint so I had to sand the it off prior to painting them with a translucent red paint. As Serban said, use VERY THIN COATS. The weight of the paint can have a negative effect on the accuracy of the gauges.
