Well I finally found a classic, seems to be cherry, was an older lady's car if you can believe that. I pick it up this weekend. :D

What did you have before? A GXE right? Looks good, but I thought the B13 came with different rims?

Nope, that's a SE-R. There never was a GXE 2 door.

I think Justin was referring to what I had before, I had an XE 2 door. Still have it actually, gotta sell it now. :( Then I have to finish my truck so I can park the SE-R in the garage. Then I can start doing things with the SE-R.

Yes, those are the rims that came on the classic SE-R.

BTW, nice find Toolly.

Congrats on the car! I know you've been looking for one for quite some time. Let me know as soon as you need help with the power windows :D

Thanks. I was looking at a black one that was down in Miami but the owner didn't seem to serious about selling, never would reply to my e-mails and stuff so I quit pursuing it, Good thing, the shipping would have cost me $800. Found this one on Autotrader on monday and the guy said he put it up on Saturday, he'd already had one guy either come look at it or call about it, and the guy said he wanted to go look at one in Texas before he made a decision. I'm guessing someone going through all that would have to be in the SE-R community, wonder who it was? The mileage is a little higher than I would like, about 93500 but I get the impression that those were highly pampered miles. I would have preferred a ruby pearl, but the aztec red had been growing on me and although I like the black best, it hides nothing and takes some maintenance to keep looking good, like Serban does. Plus, I've had a charcoal gray sentra for four years, I like the significant change in color. I think if you ask any ricer, red is faster. ;) Time to get some washer nozzle lights, some hyper whites, tire flys, some high performance floor mats, pedals, and a shift knob. That ought to give me at least 10-15 hp at the wheels. ;) I love when light bulbs, floor mats and pedal covers are listed as mods, but my all time favorite is shift knobs. (Those add a 6th gear from what I've heard ;)). Ok so I'm actually more annoyed than amused by that. :/

It's a '93 with 93500 miles with all the options, A/C, power roof, ABS, Airbag. He was asking $4000 and I'm giving him $3500. I was gonna offer $3300 but this guy's a retired CPA and was willing to sit on the thing until he got somwhere between trade in, which he had been offered $3000 and his number of $4000. So I offered a number I thought he'd take. I feel good about it because it's been pampered and frankly I've been stressing myself out looking for one. He probably would have taken $3300 but I'm not looking to get something for nothing, $3500 is a fair price to both of us IMO. If I can get $2500 from my XE then I don't mind being out $1K to have a classic. Guy said he told the dealer he wasn't going to let them have the car for that $3K because they were just going to mark the thing way up and he'd rather give someone the benefit of private party pricing, and I'm glad he did. :)

Welcome to the club. Quite a relief, isn't it. Now all you have to do to make it perfect... is paint it White!

Now, what are you going to do w/o all the stress?

Congrats, man.

Later,
Mark

ToolAPC,

Congrats on the car! I'm here in Omaha too and working on dropping a jdm sr20de in a 92 SE-R...do you have a local mehcanic that's knowledgeable, fast, and affordable?

Please give me an e-mail and let me know :) It's mmanahan123@yahoo.com.

Thanks!

About time I hear from someone in the area! I do all my own work so I can't recommend any good import mechanics. I've heard some things about 4nspeed, I think they did a swap for a guy at one point you could give them a try. There aren't too many SE-R's in the area, at least not classics. I've only ever seen one, and it was pink and beat to shit. We'll have to keep in touch. We can make trips up to the track in Scribner, and bake cookies, and do makeovers, and.... Oh wait, sorry, went overboard there. :) LMAO!
