OK, did a JDM swap friday, I thought I was getting a 92 motor, but, the distributor was different, so we used my old one, also, had to use an oil filter for a newer motor (95? shorter one) because the older oil filter would no thread.. So what freaking mortor did I get? is this just because its a JDM motor, or did I get a later model motor? anyone else get this??


Thanks, plan on doing a compression check sometime this week to see if I got one of the 10:1 motor.. keeping my fingers crossed, it sounds louder.. I dunno

I dont think a "compression check" will tell you if its a 10:1 or not, you would have to take the engine apart to look at the pistons.

If you have the newer style motor which has the distributor like the 200sx SR20, then its probably a 10:1. Also, if its a newer SR20, see if it has valve cover bolts instead of the acorn nuts.
