I know your leaving for the week. So i don't expect to hear from ya for a bit. I sent ya a few e-mails a few weeks ago about my computer. It's a '95 G20 DET with a B14 ECM that you "hooked up". Well it's acting kinda wacky. Bear with me. . I've checked and reset the codes a bunch of times. Everytime i reset it i get code 8-4. Auto trans code. Of course mines a 5 speed so i assume it's an auto ECM thats looking for a matic. The EGR code ( 10-5 ) has also been on nonstop along with the auto tranny code. Which kinda surprises me the guy that had you redo the ECM didnt have you delete it. As of 3 days ago i'm now getting the EGR temp sensor code ( 3-5 ) which i wasnt getting for the past 3 weeks i've owned the car. Yet now it's on nonstop, even after an ECM reset. My car was missing the idle air temp sensor which it showed the code for. I installed an iats that i got and the code went away. Good. But then the IACV code came on. Ok. I put in a new IACV today. The IACV code is gone ( and my idles much improved...:biggthump ) but whala. After a ECM reset and a lil driving the MAF code ( 1-2...I have a z32 maf ) comes on. Weird. So i reset the ECM again and drive a bit. Come back and check the codes again. Well the MAF code is gone, as it shoulda been. But now i'm getting rear O2 sensor code ( 7-7 ). Which makes no friggin sence. Cause ive had the car 3 weeks and theres no rear O2 sensor nor has it shown the code for it before. I assume the guy that had you do the ECM had you remove the rear O2, yet not the egr for whatever reason.

So anyway. The ECM seems to be showing whatever and whichever codes it wants to whenever it wants to. You asked me to take pics of it so i'm gonna go out now and snap a few. Could i have a bad ECM do you think? Should i just send you a new one to reprogram instead of messing with this one? Cause with the Auto trans code and the EGR code failing the CEL is always on. Therefore pass inspection i will not be able to do unless i unplug the CEL light. I'm thinking i should just pick up another B14 ECM. Make sure it's a 5 speed. And have you redo it. Whatcha think? LMK. Ian

The good news. I got the ECM today. Took a minute for the car to fire up but it runs and drives better. A/F at idle is a little better and at load A/F is about 11.5 or so. And theres less popping between shifts.

The bad news. All the trouble codes are still present. The ECM is looking for the auto tranny, EGR valve and rear O2 sensor( codes 7,7...8,4...10,5 )... ...Do you think i should just pick up another b14 ECM and have you redo it? Cause this one is having problems. Let me know.

BTW...If you look at the pics i took up top theres a 4 wire red plug that goes from the ECM to the daughterboard. It was not plugged in when i got the ecm today. Should i plug it in?

No, leave it unplugged. Your board actually has a consult adapter, but your missing the serial cable. Did it come with the car? I didn't have any in stock when I got your ecu, so I just disabled the consult adapter (aka unplugged the red cable).

I can't do anything about the auto tranny codes. The B14 ecus really have two halves- the OBD-II side and the side the runs the engine. What I reprogrammed is the engine side, but I can't touch the OBD-II side. Because its an auto tranny core the OBD-II side will always throw a code because its missing the auto tranny. Other than switching to a manual core there isn't a way to fix that.

How does the car drive?

K. Figured it was meant to be unplugged. There was a cable in the car. I still have it. Not sure if it's the consult. Car seems better now. Idle bounces a bit between 800-1000. A/F is more on the money. 15.0'ish at idle and about 11.6'ish at boost. The car has fallen flat at 6000-6500 since i got it. A week before i sent ya out the ECM i got ZAPPED while touching the thermostat housing. Needless to say i was kinda surprised. Figured that mighta been the reason for the 6500 falloff. So new distributor, cap, rotor and wires. Well it still doesn't wanna rev. And today i got ZAPPED again...:squint: ...So needless to say i'm still playing. Much less backfring during shifts and for some reason i can hear the BOV now which couldn't before.

Forgot. So the rear O2 and EGR codes aint gonna mess with anything? I can live with the light on. Not to tough to pull out the cluster and disconnect the light.
