Just replaced the front sway bar original rubber bushings with some Energy Suspension ones. After a brief 5 minute test drive, the clunking I was experiencing appears to be gone.

The rubber bushings were completely toast. Most of them were cracked, one was almost in 2 pieces.

Urethane, good.
88,000 mile OE bushings with 25 track weekends on them, bad.

Matt: when does this clunking appear? I have recently gotten a clunking noise in my car, but it only happens when accelerating out of a turn from slow speeds or a standstill.

It doesn't bother me that much, but if its as simple as bushings, I may as well fix it.

That is it *exactly*. Usually while turning, the tighter the turn, the more likely it is to clunk. Like when making a U-turn, it AWLAYS clunked. I thought something serious was wrong. Tranny going or something.

I've been chasing this noise for the better part of a year now. I was just gonna say it was the coilovers and just turn the stereo up :)

Now that that is fixed I can hear other stuff wrong. Now I think the right front shock is not happy anymore. I believe it spent too much time on the bumpstops while I was sorting the handling out last year.
