I'm considering getting headers for my car, and i dont think i have the tools or the capability for the install, does anybody have any idea of how much it would cost to have them installed?

its not that hard to install. you just need a wrench, a rachet, and sockets that fit the nuts/bolts and a jack to jack the car up. other useful items are WD40 of some sort and a torch to help with rusted bolts by the cat.

well i was wondering, if i do this, i will prolly have to keep the manifold heat shield off. will the excess heat damage anything near it like the alternator or other misc things?

you need to cut the radiator support

the heat shield wont fit over the header. ive been running a header with no shield for a year or so and nothing is damaged. if you want you can wrap them

The worst part is the rusty bolts that tend to break. Other then that its a pretty simple install.

Cut the EGR garbage off and weld it shut. ;) The bolts that thread into the cat are a joke too. Make sure you do it with a spare car to fetch unplanned items if needed.
