Hi everyone. I've got a couple of questions about open loop mode that I hope some of you could answer. I know that there are several factors that need to be present in order for our cars to go into closed loop loop mode. One of these is a working O2 sensor. So...
If an O2 sensor is disconnected at the electrical connector will the ecu go into and stay in open loop mode?
I know that in open loop mode the ecu only uses the maf and rpm readings to deliver fuel and spark via preset programmed maps. I've read some good info about this on the forum, but I've yet to find out what kind of a/f ratios these maps are trying to obtain. So...
Does anyone know what kind of a/f ratio the stock open loop mode maps are trying to get (14:1, 13:1, etc...)?
Also, once in open loop mode does the preprogrammed map try to get a set a/f ratio across the entire rpm range? For example, does the map try to get 14:1 at 2000k and 12:1 at 7000k, or does is try for 13:1 across the board?
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
