Putting in new starter (reman), going from Mitsu. to Hitachi. The posts on the starter have to be the same right? And both wires that attach to the starter go on the same post, right? I thought I would remember, and I only took off one nut. I feel terribly stupid.

But the wires that I have are B/Y and B/R... isnt that pos and neg... ? why are they going on the same post?

I am lost. feel free to taunt me.

you'll have one wire directly from the batt. and one signal from the harness that goes to the solenoid. The ground is through the transmission. There are two posts on the solenoid, one hooks to the battery wire and one goes to the starter motor. Dont mix them up. I'm confused why you took both wires off both the posts anyway..all you need to do is take off the batt. connection, solenoid signal wire, and take it off!
