I need to buy a new axle because my boot is all shreadded and when i took it out it I found the other boot to be ripped too. Anyway my question is what axle should I buy?

I found this one on ebay and it seems to be a very good deal

Or how about this one

I checked out a oem one from greg and he wants 160+ core for a remanufactured and 360 for a BN one. Those are a little high thats why I am looking at the others I listed. Please let me know what you guys think and if you know another place please post up.

thanks

Either one, I suppose. I'd personally go with the EBay one, as there is no hassle with a core charge. I just got a driver-side through the dealership my brother works at, and I think it's the same brand as the Ebay you listed. It looks like a good axle.

PS what was up with your transmission?

Yeah I am going to order the ebay one tomorrow.

I haven't opened it up yet, but plan to this week. Will definitely post up what I find......

I ordered the newer type timing chain tensioner from courtesy because I had the older one and I had 2 crack on me, that should be here by tuesday. The axle will be ordered tomorrow and then when I open the tranny I will order what ever is needed in there. I am also going to buy a fidanza or jgy flywheel too since I'll have it open and might as well if i can get a nice used one for 160ish.

I have heard some people talking up the Exedy flywheels for 199.99 on ebay. They are a little heavier than fidanza's (10.5 vs 8.8 IIRC) which suits them to turbo set-ups a bit more. I've got a fidanza in mine and don't have a problem with it, but some people complain about the rpms dropping or some ish.

The jgy I am looking at is 11lbs, so I was leaning towards that one. The guy also said he would resurface it for me too.

The fidanza I saw is the 8.5 one. Your saying you have no problems with it? Because If not I'll probably get the fidanza then instead of the jgy. Also how is the driveablity before and after the flywheel? Is it a big difference? Can you feel more or better acceleration?

I never drove my turbo car without the flywheel, so I can't give you before-and-after impressions. I never had any stalling issues, but the engine revs like a mofo. I am interested to see how it acts now that I have forged pistons in there too.

JGY sounds like a good deal if you are getting it used from someone.

The axles that you show......the one on Ebay you can get at advance auto parts, probably not in stock, but they can order the exact same one, and price is probably about the same. Just lettin ya know incase you're not that comfortable buyin one off ebay.

I ended up ordering the ebay one because one is brandnew, not a reman two it's a really good price and doesn't require a core and three it comes with a lifetime warranty. We will see....

thanks guys, I will let you know how it works out....

The Ebay one is fine. Rockauto.com sells them, too. We just put GSP axles in my NX2000; they are a quality part.
