This isnt the first time Ive noticed this. Someone else on here has a 99 Sentra SE NOT SE-L.

Now before you go saying its this or that, read what I have to say.

Ive owned my SE-L for a while now and I love b14s. This is my second one. My question to you guys is. Were there 99 SE's that were manufactured before they started slapping the SE-L badge on every nissan? (Yes there are SE-L altimas and Maximas in 99 as well)

Check this out...

yes it could just be some restored salvage Sentra. It could either have a 99 front grill on it, or it could have 98 rims and rear center reflector with NO SE-L badging, OR it could be a 99 SE. NOT SE-L.

They are around someone on here has one. Explain to me what is going on please.

Im lost.

There are a few 99 SEs around, there have even been a few posted on the forum. They have silver wheels and white gauges instead of bronzish, amber signals, no "limited" badges etc. There don't seem to be many though. You have to remember that there were no 1999 200sx's. They were probably just trying to get rid of extra gauges and wheels that would otherwise not be used.

All 99s with sr20s have white gauges.
They all have ambers as well.
None have limited Slip. Yeay. :squint:

The gauges are a little different from an SE to an SEL:

I went to the SE-L cluster, so really it added a few miles. ;)

It just looks like the top cluster is faded / dirty.

It's metallic, the same color as SEL wheels. The picture just doesn't show it well.

From what I've read, first half of the year had the 99 SE's then for $1k more the SE-L package.

Now by Mid year, they realized that no one is buying the SE-L package or there was just lots of it left, so they started slapping every SE with the SE-L package.

I mean I don't mind, but the people who paid for SE and then a few months later could have gotten an SE-L for the same price probably do...

THANK YOU!

People think I'm crazy when I say my gauges are not white but bronze like the rims and the SE-L badge color. They say I'm color blind etc.

umm... I have an SE-L and they are a metalic yes... Bronze.. No.

Its just a metalic white with a slight hint of bronze.

Covert Russian. Do you still have your (extra?) white cluster? I need another one. My security light went out cause I fried it trying something. Damn LEDs cant handle a little bit extra load. ;)

Thanks for the comparison photo though. very cool. Very interesting. You know, ive been on this site for years and I always learn something new. :)

So, yeah. about that gauge cluster?? lol.
