I just bought a new DD and this has to go. It has 204k miles as it sits right now, and it is getting pretty rusty. The car runs and drives alright, it still gets good gas mileage (35 +/- on hwy). Anyway, I was planning on taking this car to the salvage yard for scrap metal at the end of this month, but I figured if someone can use it for parts or repair it then I will sell it outright.
The good - Recently replaced some parts (ball joints, axles, tie rod ends (inner/outer)), K&N filter, 180psi +/- on all four cylinders (tested last summer). Engine runs decent for 204k miles. Water pump replaced at 170k because of noise, alternator replaced at 185k +/- because it stopped working. The front tires were replaced recently.
The bad - It is starting to rust pretty badly. The drivers side rocker panel is in pretty bad condition, as well as the bottom of the B-pillar and A-pillar. There is rust behind the front fenders along a seam, the radiator support is pretty rusty, and there is some rust in the rear wheel wells. The engine would need the front oil seal put in, which I bought from nissan and have not installed yet. The drivers side doors are screwed up due to some guy in a chebby truck hitting the car in a parking lot. The pass. side outer tie rod isn't good, it had a badly designed boot and got rusty. The car has a vibration above 65mph or so. One of the rear tires has a leak, I have to fill it every day or 2.
I am looking at getting rid of it within 2 weeks or so. I still need to drive it to school next week and then I will be ready to part with it.
Here are some pictures of the car, and some of the rust. I did paint over some of the rust with POR-15 to stop some of the rust from spreading.
