: Cruise problems?

Ok- I have a 93 SE-R with the cruise. The problem is that is doesn't work. The light comes on on the dash when I activate the button/toggle switch on the left side of the dash. I replaced the vaccum lines leading to the servo in the engine bay that is mounted on the firewall (per Eric's suggestion). I also went out and bought a nice digital multimeter and tested the switches on the brake pedal---etc. I think that was the wrong appraoch because it doesn't even engage. If it engaged and then came unengaged, I might suspect a faulty switch or a misadjusted brake pedal.

I don't have an FSM---just a crappy Haynes manual. Actually, it's not bad, it just doesn't help with the cruise. I have been trying to pick up a used FSM but haven't had much luck. Ben was going to copy some pages of the FSM that pertained to the cruise but has been very busy lately and hasn't had a chance.

I am curious if any of you can help with some ideas of things to check of if you might be nice enough to copy those pages in the FSM that pertain to the cruise and email them to me, or even snail mail them? *OR* maybe someone has an FSM they would want to sell? I bet not, right?:)

Regardless, any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I know I'm being a pain in the ass, but... with all the money and time you've already put into your car(I've followed some of your other questions), why not invest the $75 in a new FSM?

I bought mine new for that price just a couple of months ago... I have a '91 Classic. It's an invaluable resource. It doesn't explain, in great detail, everything... there are some leaps and knowledge that it assumes you already know.

But still, it's only $75 bucks. I've wasted more money buying that piss poor beer they sell down in Texas... Shiner Bock. That's what happens when I listen to George, lol.

Run a search either here or on the mailing list, that's how I found the phone number for the company that sells them. They're actually based in Ohio.

Later,
Mark

I have spent a decent amount so far on this car and I hope to have that stop. Truth be told, it has so far which has been nice. The car is a toy and I hadn't predicted it would cost nearly this much so any time I have a chance to save some money, I will.

Since the cruise isn't vital to the operation of the car, I am willing to wait until someone either has one for sale, or is willing to help me with copying those pages. If it were something more serious, I would already have the FSM in my hand and greasy:)

I'll pay shipping for you to ship me your manual. I'll copy what all I need and pay to ship it back:) I will also fix the problem and then tell you how to fix it too.

Ok--ok...if you actually did do that, I would have someone at work copy the entire manual for me. I'm good friends with the guy in our print department at work.

What do you think?:)

Well, I got a chance to check it out. It's either some minor wiring or the ACSD pump. I gotta check on the pump first. For some reason I have a feeling that is it. I'll keep ya posted!

Where is the ASCD located?

It's the little pump connected to the cruise throttle line. If you're looking under the hood from the front of the car, it's the little motor in the upper righthand corner. It's right by the driver's side door. I have to hook up the battery to it and see if it even runs, or at least creates a vacuum. I'll let you know what comes of it.
