Being the Cheap man I am, there was no way in hell that I was gonna shell out $150-$300 on a damn engine hoist... and apparently ***** rents em out where I live...

Picked up a 2ton block and tackle for $10, threw a rope accross a nice branch, attached one end to the motor, the other end to a pickup,

*vroom vroom* 2 hours later, the engine came out...

hahaha, oh yeah and the engine is still hanging from the tree...good thing its not outside infront of my house :) In all honesty, I'm surprized that the rope didn't break, or the branch didn't break.

Even though that was some great ingenuity, you did know you could have just dropped the engine through the bottom didn't you? Just remove the motor mounts, then the center cross-member and it will come out. Of course with support under it at all time and the car has too be lifted high enough.

what???? everyone amazed by this? shit thats how we do it here in TN. Pulled a 350 that way once. Hell had a guy fall into the windshield trying to put enough angle on it to put the thing in and out. guess you arent red enough :)

haha the best part being, I did this all out in my bosses yard... and he is out of town... I hope he doesn't mind the motor hanging from a tree in the middle of his yard when he returns tuesday :)
