Sweet, chris! Call me when that thing comes in! Next mod I think you should do is get some tune-up stuff. Then maybe a header or exhaust system. You'll love the sound it makes at WOT.

The CAI is the coolest sounding thing when you don't have an exhaust, or even when you do have one! The install is not tricky, just trying. I'm a novice mechanic, and I didn't have trouble on the install. The hardest part is making the hole bigger so the CAI can fit. Now before you go sticking that nice shiny pipe down in that hole, GET SOMETHING TO COVER THE EDGE!!!! I purchased that door molding that goes on the door edge...black in color. In one week my CAI had been greatly scarred on the part where it goes into the fender well. Also, the filter was always hitting the bumper and I could hear it knocking. This stopped when I put edging on. TRUST ME and get this. I thought it wouldn't matter when I put my CAI on so I didn't do it. I did and I love it. Just get a heatgun/blowdryer and melt that bi0tch on there. It will mold on there because there is glue in the crack of the edging.
As a side note, take some aspirin before attempting to remove the stock parts. The resonator box in the fender well made me shout quite a few obscenities. Others probably had an easier time doing this but I about ripped my bumper off in rage. And if you are wondering, I used a dremel to make all cuts to the metal/battery tray.

In addition to putting some sort of edging on the sheet metal, I would put a hose clamp on each side of that hole. This will absolutely prevent the tube from shifting with your motor. Put something between your clamps and the tube or the clamps will scar the tube. I used some foam strips (and edging) I ordered from Trim-Lock as a sample, presumably for work purposes.

Not to contradict you, but as long as you don't make your hole overly large, and put the edging, you will have no problem with slipping. I made my hole just right. Used a marker and traced it out on the metal. Of course I had to make it bigger, but it doesn't slip AT ALL with the edging. Of course some people have gigantic holes where the little oval used to be, so theirs just flops around all day I guess. In short, just do quality work when you install it. I would say "look at the instructions" but the HotShot instructions are worthless practically. It was hilarious when it was like "refer to illustration D" and there were NO pictures on the instructions lmao!
