Great work. This info has been asked for many times before.

Just to put this into perspective, how does it compare to say:

high port DE
low port DE
54C
Honda KA

??

I did have a worked LP DE and it made mid 200s on the intake at full lift. This VE head is making those numbers at .150-200" lift! On the ex side I was told 180 max and again this head is making that at .150"-.200" lift.

As for the 54C head, I also had a worked head but never got it flowed. To put that into perspective it made 220whp all motor(the head work was for turbo tough) and this head is is way better than that

Now for the all respectable Honda K head, I have no experience with this head. However Charles does, he said that this VE head makes more than any K20 he has seen so far. He has seen a K20 head flow 360cfms at full tilt .550" on the intake, this head is doing that around .300"-.400" lift.

So this speak alot about how well the VE head can perform. Of course this is the first head that has gone through these kind of change and more can be made with more R&D. For now it will stay where its at til I get it tested at the track.

holy crap!!!

that is crazy!

i have heard of a few ve heads cracking the 300's with ease, but never thought they could flow 400cfm

also that 242 for stock intake seems quite low, most i see are around the 260 mark

either way well done! that is a great acheivement, makes me change my mind on the decision to only lightly clean up my head

if ya dont mind me asking, what angle valve grind and what size valves you end up running?

well from stock flow numbers through final we used the same Superflow Bench 1020. I would say about 100 hrs was put into this head.

As for valve grinds i will not disclose that. Sorry. I will PM u in a bit...

yeah what was my next question, are these #'s on the stock Exhaust valve sizes (which are the smallest SR valves around I think)

As for the numbers, I'm not sure how attainable 14mm lift is but between .45 and .50 is certainly doable. There was a thread a while ago about what whp can possibly be extracted from a VE and IIRC the assumption was that the VE head can flow 300cfm at max tilt. Concensus was that the KA was superior. This certainly throws a spanner in the works.

Lastly, was this a normal SR20VE head or was it a SR16 or 20v by any chance? Just curious.

The final numbers are not stock valve sizes. I know there is a head around with +1 on IN,+2 on EX...that head flows 310cfm on IN I believe.

This head is a SR20VE casting....

Great numbers, although the exhaust valve velocity has taken a major hit which could affect your numbers. The highest flowing K20A head I have seen is 370 CFM, and that took a lot of time and $$$ to achieve. Great results on this SR20VE head, and I may look into this motor more serioulsy now instead of a VQ35 motor swap..... Will this head be available for purchase in the final spec at some time? Thanks for the great info!

Yeah we are still going to work on the ex side a bit. Yes I will end up having VE heads for diff setups available. As of now a head like this will be ready in a month for ordering. Turnaround time depends on the workload of my porter.

ok I can get this kind of head available to those who want it. It is custom and I am able to get you a full worked head plus parts and assembly. Cost is up there so PM me, I would not recommend it if you are not looking for big HP.

For mild heads I can get that for you too and have it flow upper 200s-low300s.

We are still working on the ex port and should get better numbers in a couple of weeks.

so it sounds like it is worth it to do some work to these ve heads
