i know GP lost a few hp at the dyno by running 11degrees timing, then put it up to 15degrees and the hp was there. so my question is how do i read the timing marks. i have a light, and my bro said they read 15degrees advanced, 0, and 15degrees retarted. im not doubting him, but he is a Honda guy who is a gm mechanic, so i guess i do doubt him. we turned the dist. clockwist until the light was on the last hash mark. is this correct?

I assume your pully has six marks on it. The last hash mark on a Nissan is ussually 20 degree's advance. it goes like this -5,0,5,10,15,20. Sometimes there is a solid block that is between the 12-15 spot. My DE has this solid block (7 marks total) my VE (JDM) only has the six spots on it.

i dont recall the # of marks, but i guess i better not drive it untill i get my dads light and check it. the last mark is 20, so i better back it down.

What did you have it set on before you changed it?

i dont recall the exact# but the dist. was about centered with the tightning nut, so i guess7-8 advanced. i need to get my dads light and redo it.
