Ok this is one thing that confuses the hell out of me...
I'm doing a basic build to begin with...Engine, headers, exhaust. This is on a 91 NX2000
If I can find a VE ecu, is there a need for MSD?
If I can't what do I need?
What are the small things I need to buy for the swap?
The engine that I can get comes with the VE sensors, Do I use them?

yo,
ve ecu will do you no good for trigering without harness, and then the triggers won't be set where you want them.
i believe calum is doing a realtime with the ability to trigger the solonoids at some point, it's kinda hard to figure out what's going on with that guy though.
use the sensors that match up to your ecu/gauges so stock unless you get a program for a different maf or whatever.
peace out brother and death to canada

Yeah He is right The VE ECU Is not really any good to you, unless you
live in in another country other than ( US ), where they produce cars
with VEs and your able to readily get the ve sensors and soforth..
Although I do Have A VE Ecu, Harness( - the Solinoid Conectors), TB.
When I swapped mine in i ran it with the DE, MAF, and Ecu.. with VE
injectors, to make it run Rich and make sure it didnt lean out.. and a
Cheap Summitracing RPM Switch.. Cheap Ebay Header, ports ground
to make sure the was no overlap. ( Oh and you have top swap all your
DE Sensors, Oil press, Knock, temp, Basically all the sensors on the
DE Engine to the VE Engine)
^^^ Thats the Mininum you need..
Then I got my Calum Flashed ECU, for the VE MAF, and Injectors...
And it made a big Difference..
Hope that Helps

the only issue with the sr20ve ecu is that the VVL kicks in too late. using an MSS/MSD to bring this down is a good thing.
I ran my sr20ve on the sr20de harness with the sr20ve UCU without an issue. Only a few slight changes required to make the shooting match work.
can i use a DE ecu without changing anything else?

Yes but you have to transfer all the sensors from DE including DE injectors.

what exactly are the solonooids wire up to that triggers them? with a DE ecu? or the ecu doesn't... but a msd does? im alil confused, sorry

You hook them up to a RPM activated Switch....... wire them in and set the rpm point..

I just bought summit switch which is the cheapest cam trigger ~$48 (although they trigger two cams at the same time)- search summit switches on the board.
