I just got a VE (as seen on the other post) and wondering if any of you replaced rod bearings prior to installation/swap.
Are VE's less likely to develop rod knock than other Sr20's?
Thanks.

I changed mine even thought they didn't need to be. It's much easier on an engine stand, than in the car, or after one spun.

I did it on mine, was changing out pistons anyway.
If the engine shows any signs of neglect, lack of oil change or overheat, then go for it.

Where did you buy the bearings from?
I might do it on mine, don't know.

How do these bearings look like? or anyone have pics of their installation?
I might have to do this on my extra usdm 99 sr20de motor thats gonna be put on the engine stand and be swapped onto my car. It's gonna be turbo'ed by the way.
