wanna get some advice on turbo charging my B13. It has a SR20VE with light mods. Would like to know if these engines take turbocharging well???? And the different choices I have to get a lil more power.

also be interested in this one day.
I guess there are 2 options.
small turbo/low boost on the std motor
big turbo with a det bottom end

My personal choice would be say a Ballbearing t28, running 8-10psi of boost on a good tune.

u would at least have to run a headgasket to lower the compression

I'd go with Big turbo low boost. 60trim,57trim non log manifold, 660-720cc injectors and tune that sucker for 10psi on the 10.3:1 motor.

I am not 100% sure this is just what I have seen from 2 Turbo VE's that run Log manifolds. They both lose alot of power when the cams kick in no ways around it. The other VE turbo I have seen used the Stock GTiR setup and SR16 cams. He didn't lose power when the cams kicked in, He made power all the way to redline on a really gheto setup lol you know who you are and if want to say something go ahead lol.:rofl:

best thing to do changed pistons 8 5 1 and youll be safe know alot of guys in florida doin it and runnin 22psi 350whp and better

Here's what I know from my experience. I have built my VE-T 3 diff times in the last two years in order to find the right combo. The 20VE cams have too much overlap for a log manifold to work effectively. About 20-25 degrees too much. On a tubular manifold there is a lot of separation between adjacent cylinders because of the longer tubes. This makes reversion very difficult, which is good for power. But you lose a little spool time on the turbo when you go with a tubular mani.

Equal length is the best to go with if you can afford it and you don't wanna spend a ton of money on the VET cams. I bought a set of VET cams to go in mine because the log manifold doesn't like overlap. The VET cams have only 13 degrees of overlap and about the same lift profile as the sr16ve cams. If you want a broad powerband then the VET cams would probably be best for efficiency.

I got a set of cams and will be trying them out in the next month or so. 16psi on my setup should make pretty close to 400whp if not more.

Stock cams and logs will make power, but you will completely negate any VE advantage in choosing the log mani UNLESS YOU CHANGE CAMS.

So, I say: Big power, tubular eq length with freeflowing turbine. Max street power, log mani, VET cams, and less laggy turbo.

Once you get that sorted out the VE should make amazing numbers. I guess I will have to find out! the last build made 265whp on 10psi and about 300whp when it was tuned. This time it should make well over that on 16psi.

no the factory 4cw crank is supposed to be weak ...it is best to use a de or det 8cw crank ...

will this mean i would have to remove my n1 cams if i were to turbo my ve
an replace with stock?
and how about ve/det build with ported gti-r mani & t3 ball bearing w/ stock
sr20ve cams
