Hello everybody,
I run an sr16ve engine with its ecu and wirring loom. Now i found an sr20ve engine but I have to ask you a few things.
1) Do I need to install the sr20ve wiring loom or it is possible to install the 20ve ecu in the existing 16ve loom?
2) Do i need to do any modification because i am going to use manual gearbox instead of the automatic?
3) Could you let me know for any other possible difficulties?

Thanks in advance.

I would transfer your cams from the SR16 motor into the SR20VE motor and don't rev it past 8k. You should be ok but I'd borrow a wideband and check your A/F.

Dont worry both ecu are compatible. I try both before. the only difference is only the rev limit and the rpm kick off of vvl. To me I will throw the sr16 cam into SR20ve and use the sr16 ecu plus a daughter board to adjust the fuel and air ratio.

Sould be a straight swap. Keep the SR16 cams and ECU, and as mensioned above get the A/F ratio checked as you run lean on 333cc injectors...

Before daughterboards were available here, people with SR20VEs used the SR16VE cams & ECU and added 370cc injectors + an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to get the fueling right. The SR16VE ECU plugs straight into the SR20VE loom & vice versa. This setup makes good power but you'll get even better power with a daughterboard or aftermarket computer of some type.

I think there is a problem with the e-manage as you can only change the fuel after 4000RPM or something like that as covered on this forum before. A daughter board will be cheaper and you will have more options like speed cut, rev limit, shifting points on the VVL and on some of them even have flat shift

Could you suggest me where I can buy a daughterboard and how much it costs approx. also, is it for the 16ve or 20ve ecu?

The are some sources for vvl boards.
I suggest that you contact barry (bazza1600) in this forum.

I am interested in the daughterboard as well. Links please

Get in touch with Calum bro. Get a Real Time ECU and you can tune it on the dyno with a lap top computer. I'd still keep the SR16 cams also, and ECU until the Real Time arrives. you can remove/change rev limits, sithcover points, a/f ratios, speed limiters, all that.

People here asking for a board that fits vvl ecu.
Calum RT is great but works only in de ecus.
I was tuning one vvl yesterday in real time with map trace and had absolute
control of fuel and timing maps, idle maps, vvl switcing points etc.
I was also able to set the rev limiter above 8000rpm.

Where can a daughterboard be got for SR16VE then? an N1 in particular!

Also is there a name for the type of tunning so i can see is there someone in Ireland that can fine tune it?

Thanks
